ABOUT NEEDS, INCHELPING LARAMIE COUNTY RESIDENTS SINCE 1972
Needs, Inc. was founded in 1972 on a community-driven recommendation that the most needed service in Laramie County, Wyoming was a referral and coordination agency that would stay abreast of the community’s needs and continually evolve to help meet them.
At the time of its founding, Needs, Inc. was an entirely volunteer organization with a five-person Board of Directors. Currently, Needs, Inc. has six staff members, two Experience Works employees, an average of eight committed volunteers, and nine members on its Board of Directors.
Needs, Inc. is funded by grants and donations from a variety of sources.We receive a large percentage of our funding from local businesses, churches, organizations and private individuals. Some of the major contributors are the United Way of Laramie County, the Walmart Foundation, Community Development Block Grant, and the Wyoming Community Foundation. Grant funding has also been received (usually for a specific project such as “Operation Back-to-School”) from the Kiwanis Foundation and AT&T.
Every donation, whether it be large or small, is important to our ability to make food security possible for the hungry families in our community.
