Important Program Update: New Eligibility Requirements for TEFAP Commodities (Effective January 2026)

Due to federal funding cuts and reduced resources, Needs Inc. Food Pantry will be implementing new verification requirements for participation in the TEFAP Commodity Program beginning January 2026.

To continue receiving TEFAP food assistance, all households will be required to provide the following documentation at time of service

  • Valid Photo ID, Birth Certificate, or Social Security Card for each household member

This is a change from previous guidelines, where only a valid photo ID for the head of household was required.

We understand that this change may present challenges for some families. Please know that this update is not a organizational decision, but a necessary adjustment to comply with updated program requirements in response to budget reductions and limited resources.

Our team remains committed to helping our community navigate these changes with compassion and dignity. If you have questions about acceptable forms of documentation or need assistance preparing for the new requirements, please contact us at 307-632-4132 or clients@needsinc.org.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation as we continue to serve Laramie County through these challenging times.

We are closed Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, and Federal Holidays. Please check our closure schedule for more information.
